Danaher motion system & UI
Client: Danaher
Role: Motion Designer
One of the first projects I got to really sink my teeth into at Lippincott was designing a motion system and brand assets for one of the largest companies I had never heard of, Danaher. As part of a general rebrand they were seeking to move from a behind-the-scenes medical and science technology conglomerate to a more prominent leader in the industry.
Lippincott developed the brand strategy around the idea “innovation at the speed of life” and the visual identity was built around the notion of an “acceleration curve”, which was infused into every component. For motion, this meant developing guidelines and animations that felt dynamic and energetic, but also controlled and direct.
Since this motion system would encapsulate everything from dramatic launch videos to UI animations, I designed the system around a spectrum from “functional” to “expressive” to help designers using the styleguide create animations that were appropriate to the context. In the end I created a motion styleguide with a toolkit of assets and animations as well as designed motion for the new Danaher website and worked with a team of developers to implement it.
